Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing orthopedic team. The PA will work closely with our orthopedic surgeons to evaluate and manage patients with musculoskeletal conditions in both clinical and surgical settings. This role involves direct patient care, assisting in surgery, post-operative management, and coordination of patient treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic interpretation.
  • Assist in orthopedic surgeries, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Perform in-office procedures such as joint injections, cast applications, splinting, and wound care.
  • Develop and implement patient treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Order and interpret imaging studies (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans) and laboratory tests.
  • Educate patients and families on orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care.
  • Provide follow-up care for post-operative and non-operative orthopedic patients.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Coordinate with physical therapists, pain management specialists, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
  • Participate in call coverage and hospital rounds as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Current and unrestricted PA license in the state of Florida.
  • Certification: NCCPA certification required.
  • Experience: Prior orthopedic or surgical experience preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills in orthopedics.
  • Competencies: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems and medical documentation.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
