Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including but not limited to pre-operative preparation, intra-operative assistance, and post-operative wound care.
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding treatment options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes of surgical procedures.
- Perform minor surgical procedures and treatments, such as suture removal, wound care, and scar management.
- Evaluate and manage pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients, including pain management, wound assessment, and follow-up appointments.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including surgeons, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient encounters, clinical assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including patient satisfaction surveys, clinical outcome monitoring, and adherence to clinical protocols and guidelines.
- Stay abreast of advances in plastic surgery techniques, technologies, and research, participating in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and privacy standards in handling patient information and medical records.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a surgical or procedural setting, preferably in plastic surgery or a related field.
- Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in performing physical examinations, diagnosing conditions, and developing treatment plans.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Dedication to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
