Full Job Description

Position Summary:

As a Psychiatric Physician Assistant, you will work under the supervision of psychiatrists to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients. You will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with mental health disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, social workers, and nursing staff, to deliver patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
• Diagnose mental health conditions and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and manage medication regimens.
• Provide psychotherapy and other therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and make referrals as appropriate.
• Provide education to patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) through the NCCPA.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in Florida.
• Preferred: Experience in psychiatric or mental health settings.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric conditions, treatment modalities, and medications.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $103,874.00 – $112,155.00 per year

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
