Nurse Practitioner Job Description

Job OverviewThe Orthopedic Center of Palm Beach Gardens is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide advanced pain management and orthopedic care, working collaboratively with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions while ensuring the highest standard of medical services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations, focusing on orthopedic conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Order diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and lab work.
  • Assist in preoperative and postoperative care, including patient education and follow-up management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Manage utilization management processes to enhance patient care efficiency.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
  • Provide guidance on rehabilitation, pain management, and preventative care strategies.
  • Support patients with disabilities in accessing appropriate healthcare services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the practice.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Florida.
  • Board certification as an NP (ANCC or AANP) with a focus in orthopedics preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic, sports medicine, or musculoskeletal practice preferred.
  • Proficiency in performing joint injections and aspirations.
  • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, biomechanics, and common orthopedic conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
