Full Job Description

Jupiter Medical Center, the premier hospital in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast is seeking a surgical oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full time position in our busy group (http://www.jupitermedpg.com) and work out of the Anderson Family Cancer Institute, an 80,000 square foot comprehensive cancer center on the hospital campus, alongside the finest physicians and support staff in the area.

Education

  • Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Degree

Experience / Qualifications

  • Holds current licensure in the State of Florida as Physician Assistant
  • BLS/ACLS Certified American Heart for Health Care Providers
  • Demonstrates high quality case management abilities and clinical competency from previous experiences in patient care
  • National Certification in specialty preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing

Position Summary

The Physician Assistant has coordination and clinical skills required for the comprehensive management of surgery patients. This OR-based position provides direct patient care working within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s).

  • Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.
  • Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.
  • Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.
  • Performs surgical procedures within scope of practice.
  • Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent, prolonged walking, standing, bending and reaching. Pushing, pulling or moving/lifting 50 lbs. of equipment, supplies and patients.

Threshold Requirements

  • These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
