Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. This role involves conducting physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and assisting in various medical procedures. The Physician Assistant will play a crucial role in enhancing patient outcomes through effective communication and comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain detailed medical histories from patients.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, including pain management.
- Assist in procedures such as cardiac catheterization, IV infusion, and tube feeding.
- Manage patient records using eClinicalWorks and ensure accurate medical coding for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions and treatment options, including hospice palliative medicine when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and practices relevant to the role.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and state licensure to practice as a PA.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly eClinicalWorks is preferred.
- Experience or training in pain management, cardiac catheterization, hospice palliative medicine, IV infusion, tube feeding, or dialysis is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical coding practices and ability to manage medical records effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for this position.
