Position Overview: The Physician Assistant will work closely with our surgeons, providing high-quality patient care across a variety of general surgery procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments and history-taking during pre-operative and post-operative visits.
- Assist with surgeries as directed by the supervising surgeon, including preparation and closure of surgical sites.
- Perform minor surgical procedures and interventions, as appropriate.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as labs, imaging, and pathology reports.
- Provide post-operative care, including wound management, patient education, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop patient care plans.
- Counsel patients and families on surgical procedures, risks, and recovery expectations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with practice protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing medical education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current and valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and handle a variety of patient needs.
