Responsibilities
The Radiology APP may have responsibilities within the outpatient clinic setting to include obtaining patient history, coordinating care with physicians and care teams for radiology patients, developing and implementing a treatment plan for patients undergoing radiology procedures, monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, offering counseling and education to meet patient needs, making appropriate referrals, and prescribing prescription medication. The APP may have responsibilities in the interventional radiology pre/post procedural area performing sedation assessments and medically optimizing and managing patients before and after procedures.
The APP may have responsibilities in the interventional radiology inpatient service performing hospital rounds, sedation assessments, drain management, some small procedures (such as tunneled central venous catheter removals, gastrostomy tube exchanges), and potentially hospital consultations. The APP may also perform ultrasound guided paracentesis and thoracentesis. The APP may be expected to participate in a weekend schedule for paracentesis/thoracentesis procedures. There is a comprehensive orientation to prepare the APP to work in all of the aforementioned areas.

Qualifications
New Grads will not be considered at this time. 2+ years of APP experience required.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross and DEA registration required
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess strong computer skills. Must be flexible and willing to handle extended hours and on-call responsibilities (evenings, weekends, and holidays) if need arises in department.
