Job Summary

Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center located in beautiful Northeast Florida is actively seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our distinguished cancer medicine faculty. The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for Women’s Oncologic Sexual Health and Gynecologic Survivorship provides specialized, patient-centered care to adult patients experiencing sexual health concerns and long-term physical changes related to cancer treatment. This role supports patients across the cancer continuum, with a strong emphasis on survivorship care, sexual wellness, screening, prevention, and risk reduction.
The APP functions collaboratively within a multidisciplinary gynecologic oncology team, delivering comprehensive evaluations, in-office pelvic examinations, individualized education, and longitudinal follow-up for patients who have completed cancer treatment. This role also contributes to community outreach and education initiatives to promote awareness of survivorship and women’s sexual health.

Required

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with eligibility for state licensure.
  • National certification as an NP or PA.
  • Experience in women’s health, oncology, gynecology, or survivorship care preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise or strong interest in sexual health, pelvic health, and survivorship care.
  • Excellent communication, education, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in gynecologic oncology or cancer survivorship programs.
  • Specialized training or certification in women’s health, sexual health, or pelvic health.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary oncology care model.

Schedule

  • Part Time Monday- Friday; daytime hours.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Manages adult patients referred for sexual health concerns and treatment-related physical changes following cancer therapy, including but not limited to changes in sexual function, pelvic health, hormonal effects, and body image.
  • Performs comprehensive in-office pelvic examinations and related assessments.
  • Provides extensive patient education, counseling, and anticipatory guidance related to sexual health, survivorship, and wellness.
  • Delivers long-term survivorship care to gynecologic oncology patients who have completed active treatment, including evaluation and management of late and long-term effects of cancer therapy.
  • Evaluates existing gynecologic oncology patients in collaboration with gynecologic surgical and medical oncology physicians.
  • Participates in shared decision-making with patients and caregivers, ensuring individualized, evidence-based care plans.

Screening, Prevention, and Surveillance

  • Focuses on screening and prevention through personalized and comprehensive risk assessments and thorough clinical evaluations.
  • Designs individualized imaging and surveillance plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Incorporates evidence-based risk reduction strategies and health promotion into care planning.

Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Care

  • Works closely with gynecologic oncology surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, nursing, social work, psychology, physical therapy, and other allied health professionals.
  • Collaborates with the genetics team to support appropriate risk assessment, testing, counseling, and follow-up care.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for sexual health and survivorship within the gynecologic oncology service line.

Education and Community Engagement

  • Engages in community outreach, educational programs, and internal educational events to promote women’s oncologic sexual health and survivorship care.
  • Participates in patient education initiatives and may contribute to program development related to survivorship and sexual health services.
