This on-site contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential care for newborns in need of specialized medical attention.
In this role, you will play a critical part in our staffing solutions within the healthcare industry, ensuring high-quality care for neonates. As a Locum NP or PA, you will work collaboratively with medical teams to assess, diagnose, and manage patients, contributing to our commitment to excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of neonate patients
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with medical staff
- Monitor and manage the health status of newborns
- Provide education and support to families regarding neonatal care
- Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions
- Adhere to best practices and protocols in neonatal care
- Maintain compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Nursing or related field
- Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant license
- Experience in neonatology or pediatrics is preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of current best practices in neonatal care
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and situations
**About the Job:** –
**Schedule:** You can work during the day or night. –
**No Call Requirement:** You won’t be on call. –
**Setting:** You will work in a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). –
**Patient Volume:** You will have 10 patients per shift. –
**Certification Needed:** You must be a board-certified doctor. –
**Travel and Expenses:** All travel costs will be paid.
**Job Details:** – **Shift Length:** You will work 13 hours. –
**Daytime Providers Needed:** 5 people will work from 7 AM to 8 PM. –
**Night Provider Needed:** 1 person will work from 7 PM to 8 AM. –
**Patient Load per Day:** Daytime doctors see 16-24 patients; APPs (Advanced Practice Providers) see 8-12 patients. –
**Total Beds in NICU:** There are 87 beds. –
**Procedures and Patient Care Level:** You will take care of Level IV NICU babies and do common procedures that trained Neonatologists should know how to do (like helping during delivery). –
**Coverage Model:** During the day, 1 doctor works with 2 APPs for 25-bed units, and 1 doctor works with 1 APP for 12-bed units. At night, 1 APP oversees each unit with help from 1 doctor.
