Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our cardiology team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiovascular health and be comfortable managing patients with a variety of cardiac conditions in the inpatient setting. This role involves direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of cardiovascular diseases in collaboration with our cardiologists.
This is a part time weekend position with flexible hours. The candidate will be expected to work 2 days per week seeing approximately 20 patients with compensation ranging from $45,000-$60,000 annually based on your desired caseload. PRN weekdays available for additional compensation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient history and physical exams
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and lab work
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiologists
- Provide patient education on heart health, disease prevention, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Monitor and manage patients with hypertension, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and other cardiac conditions
- Perform follow-up visits and manage chronic disease care
- Assist with hospital rounds and inpatient consultations
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of patient care
Qualifications:
- Board Certification (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
- Valid state license and certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to interpret diagnostic tests.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Current ACLS Certificate
- Current BLS certificate
