Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care with a focus on integrative medicine, functional medicine, and preventive health. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced healthcare professionals in a dynamic and patient-focused setting. The PA-C will play a key role in diagnosing and treating patients using a combination of conventional and holistic approaches while emphasizing patient education, lifestyle modifications, and wellness strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and lifestyle evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique health needs.
- Order, perform, and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, including lab work, imaging studies, and specialty testing related to functional medicine.
- Prescribe medications, supplements, and other treatments in accordance with best practices and patient-specific needs.
- Provide patient education and counseling on disease prevention, nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and holistic wellness strategies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals which include Dr. Angeli Akey, who is a Yale-trained physician, a physician assistant, a nurse practitioner, an acupuncturist, and a wellness coach, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in practice development initiatives, including patient education seminars, community outreach, and wellness programs.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in integrative and functional medicine through continuing education and professional development.
- Support quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA-C) program.
- Active Physician Assistant license in the state of Florida or eligibility to obtain one.
- Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience in primary care, integrative medicine, functional medicine, or a related field.
- Strong interest in functional medicine principles, including nutrition, gut health, hormone balance, and lifestyle interventions.
- Exceptional clinical skills with the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strongly committed to patient-centered care.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-based healthcare model.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for holistic, integrative healthcare.
