Job Opening Summary

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a highly motivated physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) team. Under the supervision of attending physicians, this position will provide diagnostic and therapeutic health care coverage for patients for their complex gynecological conditions, such as endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pain, among others. Care will be provided in both the clinical office setting, performing history and physical examinations, initial medical decision-making and minor office procedures, as well as in the operating room assisting our widely respected, fellowship-trained physicians with laparoscopic, robotic and open procedures. The candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in research and quality improvement projects in one of the top five public universities.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited physician assistant program.

Credentialing:

  • Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as a physician assistant within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF HealthCare Network, as applicable.

Additional Requirements Specific Area or Specialty -/- Additional Requirements:

Surgical/Operative Adult -/

  • – PA or ARNP with RNFA required. Adult Clinic/Primary Care -/- PA or AGACNP, AGPCNP or FNP required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current and clear license (or eligible to be licensed) as a physician assistant (PA) or advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) in the state of Florida.
  • BLS is required.

Shift hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday
