Joint Implant Surgeons of Florida has been established in the community for over 50 years and is regarded as one of the most premier, specialty medical groups . Our thriving, privately owned Orthopedic, Spine and Pain Management Practice is anchored in Lee and Collier Counties servicing patients located throughout SW Florida.

We are hiring full-time permanent Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who specialize in orthopedics with a preference for those with total joint reconstruction experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
  • Obtain, compile, and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, MRI, and laboratory testing.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Exercise professional judgement regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
  • Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans and record progress.
  • Prescribe therapy or medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
  • Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.
  • Visit and observe patients on hospital rounds, update charts, order therapy, and reporting back to physician.
  • Provide physicians with assistance during surgery.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, suturing and wound care, and infection management.
  • Coordinate activities of medical assistants and other support staff during clinic, as necessary.

Education, Licensure and Experience:

  • Must have graduated from an accredited educational program for physician assistants or nurse practitioner.
  • Must hold a valid Florida License through the Florida Board of Medicine.
  • (2) years Orthopedic experience or first assist experience preferred. New grads passionate about Orthopedics are also encouraged to apply.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary health services team.
