We are an independently-owned, highly respected rheumatology and sports medicine practice with continuous growth. We are looking for a PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (or NURSE PRACTITIONER) who is team-oriented to radiate our company culture and provide top-notch care.
We are the only Florida practice nationally accredited in diagnostic and interventional ultrasound. We have multiple ancillaries including: MSK ultrasound, digital x-ray, infusion, DME, research and teaching. We have a solid team; many team members have been with the practice since its inception in 2007. Our team is comprised of four doctors, two physician assistants, one nurse practitioner and 45 team members to support them.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Performs duties required of a PA in the medical specialty of rheumatology and sports medicine on behalf of The Hirsh Center in accordance with the laws of the United States, the State of Florida, and the principles of medical ethics of the American Medical Association.
* Commits to growing his/her practice at the Hirsh Center; provides care for routinely scheduled patients, both new and existing, and emergency add-on patients; records patients’ medical histories; performs physical exams; creates patient care plans.
* Observes patients’ functioning over time and modifies treatment plans, as needed; orders, prescribes and administers medicine and other treatment options, including the ordering or narcotics; ensures medical records reflect symptoms, treatments, and administration of prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
* Performs intake duties to obtain information from patients and, in some cases, from families or guardians.
* Orders, administers and analyzes diagnostic tests and durable medical equipment; monitors and operates medical equipment.
* Evaluates test results to determine underlying physiological reasons for patient symptoms; diagnoses medical conditions and devises treatment plans designed to alleviate pain and to stop the progress of diseases and conditions.
* Supervises the activities of nurses and other clinical team members to ensure patients receive the best care possible.
* Educates patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans and trains patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury.
