Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in wound management, including advanced skills in suturing, infection control, and complex wound assessment. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans, ensure optimal patient outcomes, and promote healing through evidence-based practices. Candidates with expertise in telehealth, acute pain management, and complex medical documentation are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive wound assessments including physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans utilizing advanced techniques such as debridement, skin grafts, and dermal fillers when appropriate.
- Administer treatments including IV infusions, catheterization, and injections (e.g., Botulinum toxin treatment).
- Manage complex cases involving surgical wounds.
- Perform sterile procedures adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and promote healing.
- Document patient care accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and post-discharge follow-up for optimal recovery.
- Educate patients and families on wound care techniques, nutrition for healing, pain management strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to wound healing innovations or new treatment modalities.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in wound care or related specialty preferred.
- Proven expertise in advanced wound management procedures including suturing, skin grafting, and dermal fillers.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology relevant to wound care.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
