Meet the Doctor: Dr. Anthony F. Infante Jr., DO
Position Summary: Dr. Anthony Infante, a board-certified orthopedic trauma surgeon at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, is seeking a skilled and committed Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join his team. This role will support his high-acuity orthopedic trauma and reconstruction practice with responsibilities across clinic, hospital rounds, and first assist in surgery.
This is a full-time position based primarily in Brandon, FL, with regular responsibilities at affiliated hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited PA or APRN program
- Current Florida state license as a PA or APRN
- NCCPA certification (for PA) or national certification as an APRN
- Orthopaedic or surgical experience strongly preferred (2+ years)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, high-volume surgical practice
- Local candidates or those living in or near Brandon, FL highly encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist supervising physician in both clinical and surgical settings, including pre-operative, intra-operative (first assist), and post-operative care
- Conduct patient histories, physical exams, and consults in both office and hospital environments
- Participate in hospital rounds, discharge planning, and emergency department consultations as needed
- Gradually transition to independent clinic coverage after a training period, including follow-up and post-op visits
- Provide first assist in surgery for orthopedic trauma and reconstruction procedures
- Apply and remove casts, splints, and other orthopedic devices
- Document all patient care activities clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, post-operative care, and general health management
- Participate in a rotating weekend call schedule, supporting trauma call coverage and consults
- Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Uphold FOI’s standards for excellence in patient care, teamwork, and work ethic
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
