Job Description
Are you a dedicated Physician Assistant looking for an autonomous, impactful role without the burnout of traditional hospital or clinic walls?
We are seeking a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high-quality, mobile podiatric care to patients residing in assisted living facilities across the Tampa and St. Petersburg region. In this role, you will enjoy a high degree of day-to-day autonomy, traveling directly to facilities to manage routine and specialized foot care, wound management, and minor podiatric procedures.
While you will operate independently in the field (making the administrative side of the role remote), you will have robust clinical support and regular oversight from a dedicated, supervising Podiatrist.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive lower-extremity evaluations, routine foot care, and specialized podiatric treatments for residents within designated assisted living facilities.
- Wound Management: Evaluate, dress, and manage lower-extremity wounds and ulcers common in geriatric and diabetic populations.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement localized care plans in coordination with facility nursing staff and the supervising Podiatrist.
- Mobile Documentation: Accurately document patient encounters, clinical notes, and billing codes electronically from the field or home office.
- Collaborative Care: Maintain consistent communication with the overseeing Podiatrist regarding complex cases, surgical referrals, or advanced treatment changes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Florida (or license in progress).
- Experience: Experience in podiatry, wound care, geriatrics, or mobile/home-health settings is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Travel: Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required, as this position involves daily travel to multiple facilities within the Tampa/St. Pete metro area.
- Core Competencies: Strong clinical intuition, excellent communication skills with elderly patients and facility staff, and high proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
