Oakland Park Family Medicine is a small family practice, in South Florida, catering to the needs of patients for over 30 years. Our team of experienced providers takes the time to personally care and treat our patients as if they were family. We provide our patients access to routine physicals, sick care, telehealth visits, women’s care, and much more.

Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Job Summary:

The Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for providing primary care services, conducting onsite health risk assessments, providing wellness education, supporting individual lifestyle changes, and helping individuals manage their chronic conditions. The Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will deliver affordable, accessible, comprehensive high-quality care that meets the needs of our patients, their families, and our communities.

Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing episodic and chronic care, as well as screening and educational assistance to the clinic’s patients.
  • Recognize diversity of patient population and treat all warmly and kindly
  • Work in harmony with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality service to patients.
  • Ensure company’s objectives regarding financials, patient engagement, and healthcare quality
  • Promote company’s services to patients, customers visiting the store, and to local community population by carrying out promotional campaigns, including offering of signage and promotional codes, as well as conducting outreach in the locality.
  • Ensure participation in continuing nursing education and training to keep abreast of current developments in the industry.
  • Ensure state licensure and national certification remain current and valid
  • Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership of healthcare clinic to enhance quality of healthcare service to patients.
  • Provide Primary and Family evidenced-based care inclusive of accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for our patients.
  • Be responsible for handling patient appointments and performing routing examinations to ensure positive patient health outcomes.
  • Perform duties including speaking with patients about healthy lifestyle choices, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain a comprehensive plan of care.
  • Encourage patients to become active participants in their own healthcare and well-being through services such as health screenings, behavioral health and wellness, chronic condition management.
  • Provide on call coverage for patients
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Possess current and valid license from the State Board of Nursing for Advanced Nursing Practice or Physician Assistant License
  • Officially accredited to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by AANP or ANCC or as a Physician Assistant
  • Meet all state requirements and obtain valid Prescriptive Authority
  • Meet and keep valid all state and national legal requirements to practice as FNP or PA anywhere in the state.
  • Competent in using electronic medical records and information systems in providing effective documentation of patient care.
  • Ability to achieve high performance working with diverse groups of individuals and leadership in a team environment.
  • Passionate about rendering quality and compassionate service to patients and growing the clinic
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills, multitasking ability, and effective communication skills to ensure patients are well informed, and the clinic is well promoted internally and to the public.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant role.
  • Minimum 1 year experience practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant within a primary care/family practice setting.
  • Current and unrestricted state licensure
  • Be CPR certified
