Overview – Job Title: Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant
We are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Physician Assistant to join our premier plastic surgery practice in Miami. Under the supervision of our lead surgeon, the PA will bridge the gap between surgical care and clinical aesthetics. Responsibilities include first-assisting in the operating room, performing cosmetic injectables, and managing pre- and post-operative patient visits. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Surgical & Perioperative Care
- First-assist in the operating room
- Manage post-operative care, including monitoring recovery, removing sutures/drains, and changing dressings.
- Address patient concerns or complications (e.g., seroma management) under the guidance of the supervising surgeon.
2. Clinical Aesthetics & Injectables
- Perform comprehensive facial and skin assessments.
- Administer cosmetic injectables, including neuromodulators (e.g., Dysport) and dermal fillers, adhering to delegated medical supervision.
- Educate patients on aesthetic treatment plans, expected results, and aftercare.
3. Compliance, Prescriptions & Documentation
- Maintain an active, formal, written Supervisory Protocol on file with the practice and updated in compliance with Florida rules.
- Exercise prescribing authority under delegated autonomy while adhering to Florida’s controlled substance formulary rules.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to support assistant surgeon modifier data if required. [2, 3, 5, 8, 9]
4. Marketing & Administrative Duties
- Conduct quarterly meetings to discuss revenue, sales and marketing
- Participate in weekly creation of content along with Social Media agency
- Spearhead initiatives that will help increase sales of injectable procedures.
- Work alongside the Practice Manager to coordinate events that will drive more patients to incorporate injectables as part of their aesthetics routine.
- Utilize the EHR to maximize all marketing initiatives, run weekly reports, track patient appointments, write clinical notes, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid, unrestricted Florida Physician Assistant license in good standing.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Completed state-mandated electronic fingerprinting and background screening.
- Strong bedside manner, high attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
