Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine of SWFL is an expanding practice that provides exceptional orthopedic care to patients in Southwest Florida. We are currently seeking a certified Physician Assistant that enjoys working independently and engaging with patients, while learning in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing comprehensive and problem-focused H&P examinations
- Working clinic, including surgical pre-operative visits and post-op visits
- Implementing therapeutic intervention for specific conditions
- Assist with practice call and hospital/ER call
- First assist in surgery
- Conducting post-operative rounds, writing orders, and performing admission and discharge work in the hospital setting
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic procedures and studies, such as X-ray examinations, CT, MRI, and bone scans
- Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as brace, cast, and splint applications
- Injection of joints
- Joint and bursa aspirations
- Ordering, prescribing, and dispensing medication
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C); Florida license
- Hospital and surgery center credentialing will be required
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years in orthopedics (preferred)
- One year as surgical first assist (preferred)
- EHR/EMR experience (preferred)
