About 1530 Medical Services:1530 Medical Services is a private practice led by a solo Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing exceptional and innovative healthcare through Prudent Medical Associates, LLC. We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team and support our mission of delivering outstanding patient care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. We are an active NHSC site with loan repayment opportunities.
Position Summary:We are looking for an exceptional PA-C who excels both clinically and administratively. We seek a candidate who can seamlessly integrate into a small practice, multitask under stress, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical care, including sick call, chronic care, history and physicals, emergency and urgent care, and telemedicine as assigned, ensuring timely and evidence-based treatment.
- Diagnose and treat patients within scope of practice, order diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, MRI, lab studies), and perform physical examinations and electrocardiograms as needed.
- Complete all patient encounter documentation and billing within 24 hours, ensuring no outstanding notes beyond this timeframe to support smooth clinic operations.
- Adhere to approved formulary for treatments, document needs for non-formulary medications, and participate in peer-to-peer reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between clinical and administrative operations, coordinate meetings, ensure accurate billing, and maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
- Provide emergency on-site treatment, demonstrate proper CPR techniques, and support training of staff as needed.
- Support patient care delivery by assisting providers during examinations and educating patients on medical conditions and treatments.
Experience & Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Holds a current license to practice as a PA-C in Washington, DC.
- Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, preferably in family practice and urgent care.
- Maintains current CPR and ACLS certifications.
- Strong administrative skills with a proven ability to manage clinic operations and multitask under pressure.
- Must pass background check, security clearance, and drug screening.
