Location: Gerlad Family Care
Position: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
We are looking to hire Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Assistant (PA) to join our primary care team here at Gerald Family Care. We have 3 offices in DC and Maryland area and been in business for 49 years. Gerald Family Care is a value-based provider: through our contracts with payers, we aim to be rewarded for quality and outcomes, not volume. Our mission is to deliver quality care, improve outcomes, and reduce cost of care for both patients and payers. We interact with other ACO health organizations to assist our team on closing care-gaps.
The job description of a NP or PA includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests overseeing patients’ health, and helping people lead healthy lives. NP and PA will provide total patient care under the direct supervision of a physician. Both will follow policies and procedures, established by the practice. NP and PA will demonstrate subject matter expertise in medication, treatment, and standards of patient care. As a provider, you’ll be working closely with our staff and other healthcare professionals. Some clinical experience in primary care is vital.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures
- Strong computer skills
- Strong understanding of the needs of underserved communities
- Good organizational skills and familiar with E-Clinical works is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and medical staff
- Ability to comfortably perform and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to follow the protocols and procedures established by the practice
