PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Job Description The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed healthcare professional who provides medical care under the supervision of a physician. Key responsibilities include taking patient histories, conducting physical exams, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans. PAs also prescribe medications, assist in surgeries, and provide patient education. Strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a healthcare team are essential for success in this role.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive ENT-focused history and physical examinations for patients with acute, chronic, and emergent conditions.

  • Perform in-office procedures such as designated.

  • Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care for ENT surgeries (e.g., sinus surgery, tonsillectomy, ear tube placement).

  • Develop and implement treatment plans for ENT-related conditions.

  • Prescribe medications and provide patient education on ENT health and post-procedure care.

  • Manage electronic health records, including documentation of visits, test results, and patient communications.

  • Participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotation for ENT patients.

  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Physical Demands

  • Occasional lifting of equipment or supplies (up to 25 lbs).

  • Frequent sitting with intermittent standing and walking.

  • Manual dexterity for procedures and computer documentation.

Travel

  • In-state travel between ENT clinic locations may be required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.

  • Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Delaware.

  • Delaware and Federal Narcotics Licenses.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

  • Active NCCPA certification.

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in ENT or related specialty strongly preferred.
