Job Title: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – Functional Medicine/Integrative Medicine
Location: GW Center for Integrative Medicine, Washington, D.C.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in functional medicine to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in holistic and integrative approaches, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care in alignment with functional medicine principles, including detailed patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans focusing on lifestyle modification, nutrition, and other integrative therapies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nutritionists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Conduct follow-up consultations to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients on lifestyle changes, nutritional strategies, and other wellness practices that support overall health and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Stay updated with the latest research and developments in functional and integrative medicine.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of Washington, D.C.
- Certification from an accredited NP or PA program.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in functional medicine or integrative healthcare.
- Strong understanding of functional medicine principles, including systems biology, nutritional science, and the interaction between genetics and environmental factors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in integrative and functional medicine.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications or training in functional medicine (e.g., IFMCP from the Institute for Functional Medicine) or in complementary medicine field
- Experience in a clinical setting focused on integrative medicine, wellness, or preventive healthcare.
Compensation:
- Competitive contract-based compensation
