Midstate GI is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our growing inpatient team. . This role is ideal for an advanced practice clinician who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment and is passionate about providing excellent gastrointestinal (GI) care.
Position Summary
The Inpatient PA/APRN will work collaboratively with our gastroenterologists to deliver high-quality GI evaluations, consultations, and ongoing inpatient management. You will be an integral member of our care team, supporting patients admitted with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions.
**HOURS: 8AM-5PM**
NO WEEKENDS OR ON CALL
Midstate GI is a single specialty physician owned private practice that is affiliated with Hartford healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient GI consultations and follow-up visits
- Conduct thorough histories, physical exams, and treatment planning
- Coordinate patient care with attending physicians, hospital staff, and ancillary services
- Document all encounters promptly and accurately within the EMR
- Assist with transitions of care, including discharge planning and communication with outpatient providers
- Participate in quality initiatives and support best practices within the GI service line
Qualifications
- Current CT licensure as a PA or APRN
- National certification (PA-C, FNP, or AGACNP preferred)
- Inpatient or GI experience strongly preferred, but willing to train motivated candidates
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
