Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAT Scan Technician with Supervisor Responsibilities to join our dynamic radiology team. In this pivotal role, you will operate advanced CT (Computed Tomography) imaging equipment to produce detailed diagnostic images, ensuring accurate assessments for patient care. As a supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, coordinate workflow, and mentor junior staff to uphold the highest standards of radiologic imaging and patient safety. Your expertise in various imaging modalities—including CAT scans, DEXA scans, and Xray, will contribute to delivering exceptional diagnostic evaluations. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CT scanners and related radiologic imaging equipment with precision and adherence to radiation safety procedures
- Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures including CAT scans, DEXA scans, and Xray
- Maintain accurate patient records and required documentation
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards
- Supervise daily departmental operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and quality assurance measures
- Provide guidance and mentorship to radiology technologists and support staff to ensure compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards
- Implement radiation safety protocols rigorously to protect patients, staff, and self during all imaging procedures
- Monitor radiation badges with Landauer, return badges as needed, and order new badges for new staff members
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, equipment maintenance logs, and safety records
- Ensure ACR accreditation is maintained for necessary machines
- Maintain an up-to-date list of controlled medical requirements for the CAT Scan room
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and proper aseptic techniques during all patient interactions
- Serve as the point of contact for reception staff regarding patient scheduling issues. Serve as the point of contact for technologists and reception staff regarding professional issues as they arise
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program
- Current ARRT certification required; CT certification preferred or required depending on department standards
- Current state licensure in radiography and/or CT as applicable
- BLS/CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles
- Prior experience supervising or leading a radiology team within a busy healthcare environment
- Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols effectively
- Experience working in urgent care settings or emergency rooms is highly desirable
