Stamford Health is currently seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant to join our 24/7 in-house coverage team! This is an immediate need for a Physician Assistant to work in the Surgical Subspecialties at Stamford Hospital. This is a full-time position requiring clinical work and OR First Assist. The PA will assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with a variety of medical and surgical conditions which range from chronic diseases, acute illnesses, and health care maintenance. Under the direction of or in consultation with a physician, the PA will provide a broad spectrum of general patient care. Patient population includes approximately 85-90% Urology and Neurosurgery with an occasional Oral and Maxillofacial and ENT patients. Willing to train PA’s with at least 1 year of surgical inpatient experience in other surgical subspecialties.
Schedule: Fulltime – 37.5 hours/week; 3, 12.5 hour-shifts per week – day/night/weekend rotation – shifts rotate between 6a-6:30p and 6p-6:30a; no on call required

- Current NCCPA certification required.
- 1 year emergency/surgical residency beyond formal training is preferred.
- 1 year of surgical PA experience desired.
- Previous robotic experience highly preferred.
- BLS required. ACLS and PALS desirable.
