Full Job Description

Stamford Health’s renowned Interventional Radiology department is seeking a compassionate and energetic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the fast-paced environment and provide a collaborative approach to care for both inpatients and outpatients. Interventional Radiology is a cutting-edge field of medicine regarded as one of the most minimally invasive and the practitioner that fills this opportunity will assist with minimizing discomfort, decreasing risk of complications and allowing for shorter recovery times by performing hospital consults and rounds, taking patient history, performing radiologic procedures, and treatment planning to facilitate patient care from admission to discharge.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, Mix of 8 hour and 10 hour shifts, 8AM to 4PM and 7AM to 5PM. No weekends, no holidays, no call.

  • Assess and screen patients in preparation for an interventional procedure.
  • Obtain patient health history.
  • Perform physical examination.
  • Obtain, review, and interpret diagnostic studies preprocedural, intraprocedural and postprocedural (US, CT, XRay and MRI) images.
  • Prescribe appropriate medication and other treatment modalities.
  • Evaluate (Consult) outpatient AND inpatient referrals for requested interventional procedures, including but not limited to obtaining and reviewing relevant imaging and clinical information.
  • Conduct post-procedural rounding on inpatients including overall clinical assessment and evaluation of drains.

For PA candidates:

  • B.A./B.S. and completion of 2 years accredited P.A. training program.
  • Current NCCPA certification required.
  • A PA license in the state of CT prior to start date is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required.

Neuro experience highly preferred!

For APRN candidates:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of CT
  • A Master’s degree is required for entry level practice.
  • An APRN license in the state of CT prior to start date is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
