We are seeking a driven, self-motivated medical professional with a dynamic personality who requires minimal supervision to join our team as a practitioner on a full or part time basis. Candidates must be passionate about helping others, dependable and hard working with an outstanding work ethic.
The Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with the clinic physician according to the medical protocol set forth by the Medi-Weightloss corporate office.
With general direction, provides patient care; conducts physical exams; completes health history summary; documents patient progress; assists with patient care management.
The environment is fast-paced and the position is multifaceted.
Essential Job Functions:
- Obtains and reviews patient’s medical and psychosocial history information relevant to patient care
- Conducts physical examinations
- Orders and reviews laboratory studies as well as diagnostic procedures including EKGs, phlebotomy, injection administration IV therapy and metabolic breathing analysis.
- Assumes responsibility for prescribing and dispensing FDA approved appetite suppressant according to state and federal guidelines
- Reviews patient’s progress and manages patient care accordingly
- Maintains all required documentation for patient care and medication management
- Counsels patients on a weekly basis on nutrition, exercise and lifestyle choices to ensure weight loss and maintenance of recommended weight.
Non-essential Job Functions:
- Provides training to clinical and non-clinical staff as needed
- Documents patient progress notes in the patient chart and/or EMR.
- Conducts consultations with patients regarding the Medi-Weightloss program
- Performs other clinical duties as required
- Communicates and outreaches to referral physicians
- Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient’s progress and address any concerns
- Provides ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success.
