Position: Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

This is a per diem night position for our CICU. This APP would join our group in the Cardiac ICU, with the goal of 24/7 coverage in conjunction with existing resident coverage. This APP team is instrumental in providing consistent, collaborative care in this critically ill population- including our heart failure/transplant, structural/procedural, and MI patients. This team has also become front line in our COVID efforts, as well as collaborating with CTICU to help for our new ECPR program to help facilitate safe/efficient ECMO cannulation in CICU. Prior ICU APP working experience required. Prefer prior cardiology and/or cardiac surgery ICU experience.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care, focusing on holistic patient needs.
  • Collaborate closely within interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care across various settings.
  • Educate patients and families on care strategies and available resources.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation aligned with hospital and regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards and contribute to quality management and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
  • Clinical working experience within a specialty/service line is preferred but not mandatory; new grads are encouraged to apply.
  • Active certification and licensure in Connecticut as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS/BLS, DEA License, PALS, NRP Certification may be required based on the position.
