Full Job Description
SUMMARY
In accordance with RNPs Mission Statement, Philosophy of Client Care and Code of Ethics as stated in the Personnel Policies and under the supervision of the Medical Director diagnoses and treats substance abuse by performing the following duties:
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Examines clients to determine general physical condition.
- Orders laboratory tests and evaluates data obtained.
- Prescribes methadone and routinely reviews client dosage levels.
- Advises clients concerning diet, hygiene and methods for prevention of disease.
- Refers clients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment.
- Reviews client medical records for accuracy and completeness.
- Recommends subject matter for and participates in staff education and training sessions.
- Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
CORE COMPETENCIES
Valid State of Connecticut medical license required.
- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment.
- Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES
Incumbents may be required to secure professional certification and/or license.
