Full Job Description
We are currently seeking to hire a Full-Time Physician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has a background in occupational medicine and will be personally responsible for helping with urgent care services. This position requires a strong background in wound management, injury rehabilitation and urgent care services. Successful candidates will have extensive experience in these areas and be capable of performing in both a team and lone capacity.
Qualifications for the Physician Assistant:
- Experience in an Urgent Care Setting.
- Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program.
- Current license in the State of Connecticut
- Current CT Controlled Substance license
- Current Federal DEA license
- Current DOT medical examiner license
- Spanish speaking a plus
Responsibilites for the Physician Assistant:
- Completes health/medical history and performs physical assessment on patients in accordance with the presenting chief complaint and established protocol.
- Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic intervention.
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients in accordance with practice protocol.
- Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures as warranted in accordance with the established protocol.
- Synthesizes data to determine preliminary assessment and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention and health promotion.
- Administers treatments, medical intervention and injections in accordance with established protocols.
- Educates and advises patients or significant others regarding health and illness prevention including referral to community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instructs patients and family, regarding their plan of treatment and expected outcomes as well as follow-up appointments as indicated by the patient’s condition.
- Ensure that documentation is comprehensive and written in the established format of the practice.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Ensure encounter notes are closed 24 hours after the date of service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay: $115,000.00 per year
