Certified Physician Assistant
Starting Pay Range – $113,459 – $132,369/annually

Job Summary: To provide direct ambulatory patient care to the patients of the Pueblo Community Health Center in accordance with accepted standards of practice and with established clinical protocols under the supervision of a physician.

Education/Experience/License/Certification:
- Graduate of an AMA accredited Physician’s Assistant program.
- Minimum 1 year of experience is required.
- Certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician’s Assistants.
- Insurable for medical liability.
- Previous ambulatory experience.
- Current B.L.S. with skills demonstration C.P.R. certification for Healthcare Providers required.
Required Travel: Frequent travel is required including day-to-day local travel for patient care, business meetings, community events, etc, of which some may occur during evenings and weekends.

- Conversational Spanish desired.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with patients, staff and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure the function and activities of this department to embrace the philosophy, mission, values and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
- Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
- Provide comprehensive ambulatory care in accordance with established clinical protocols to the patients of Pueblo Community Health Center.
- Maintain and broaden medical knowledge base through continuing education activities.
- Participate in PCHC medical staff activities and quality assurance programs.
- Be aware of and operate within the constraints of fiscal issues, facility and resource issues, managed care regulations, and liability issues.
- Maintain a professional and cordial environment in the clinic area and represent PCHC in a professional manner to the public.
- Provide health care services appropriate to the age-specific needs of all patients in accordance with the principles of growth and development for infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric life cycles as requested and within the scope of approved privileges.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
- The employee may be required to provide services to an individual who is not a patient of the health center when the provider is then asked, called upon, or undertakes at or near the location of an emergency to provide service to a non-health center patient in an emergency situation or temporarily treat or assist in treating the non-health center patient.
- The employee may be required to provide supervision of students and medical residents providing care at the health center’s facilities or at non-health center facilities such as hospitals or nursing homes. This may include supervision of students or medical residents providing care to non-health center patients as required by a hospital for emergency room coverage or as a condition of obtaining hospital admitting privileges.
