Position Overview
The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide on‑site medical services to Job Corps students under the supervision of a licensed Physician, in accordance with Colorado Board of Medicine and Colorado Medical Practice Act requirements. The PA will deliver evidence‑based care, focusing on early diagnosis, treatment, health promotion, and prevention, while collaborating with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake physicals, routine examinations, and develop treatment plans under physician supervision.
- Provide care for minor conditions, episodic illness, acute care, and chronic conditions.
- Prescribe medications (controlled and non‑controlled) as permitted by Colorado law and under physician oversight.
- Document all medical encounters, diagnoses, treatments, and prescriptions in SHR and Job Corps Health and Wellness forms.
- Collaborate with counselors and medical staff on chronic care and substance abuse treatment plans.
- Participate in DAC meetings and applicant review sessions as requested.
- Ensure medical equipment is maintained and infection control policies are followed.
- Support health promotion and education programs, including family planning and preventive care.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and staff education sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality of student health records in compliance with HIPAA.
- Coordinate with other departments to integrate health and wellness into student programming.
Qualifications
- Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Colorado.
- Certification from NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
- DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances in Colorado.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and Job Corps medical regulations.
- Experience in adolescent or young adult medicine preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Pay: $60.40 – $65.61 per hour
