Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner | Physician Assistant – Front Range

Reports to: Medical Director

Job Category: Salary | Exempt | Full-Time

Salary Range: $110,00 to $148,000 per year (Pay is dependent on applicant’s relevant experience)

Job Site: Foundry Front Range (Broomfield)

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides patient assessment and diagnosis, formulates treatment plans, prescribes medications, orders laboratory tests, and provides patient education, while maintaining safety standards and delivering consistent quality patient care.

Education and Experience:

  • Masters of Science in Nursing, or PA certificate of added qualification with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis, from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Colorado as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or PA-C and registered with DORA.
  • Strong clinical background in psychiatry.
  • Must have 2+ years PMHNP or psych-added qualification PA experience, residential and detox experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must be adept at quickly learning multiple computer systems and platforms.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s EMR system.
  • On-call availability.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct client care via psychiatric health services, education, counseling, and emotional support with compassion.
  • Order appropriate diagnostics, including bloodwork to monitor psychotropic medication levels.
  • Diagnose conditions.
  • Prescribe treatments, including medication.
  • Educate clients and their families.
  • Consult physicians as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all client care is delivered in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain documentation of services including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, treatment plan reviews, and other required information.
  • Collaborate with Medical Providers, Director of Operations, and Clinical Director to create and implement standard-of-care guidelines.
  • Complete detox admission/discharge summary and RTC/PHP discharge summary as indicated by level of care.
  • Ensure compliance with JCAHO, local, state, and federal policies and regulations, including accurate recordkeeping.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working/typing on a computer.
  • Climbing stairs, walking, bending, reaching, sitting, standing, using hands, see, talk, hear.
  • Exposure to a medical and clinical environment.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
  • Driving in all weather conditions.
