Southeast Denver Pediatrics is looking for a Physician Assistant to join our practice!
Two locations: 2121 South Oneida, Denver, and 11960 Lioness Way, Parker.
Pediatric primary care practice with currently five Physicians and three Advanced Practice Practitioners.
Four office days per week. No call. Twelve Saturdays per year.

JOB TITLE: PA DEPARTMENT: Provider
BASIC PURPOSE OF THIS JOB:
Physician Assistant, a licensed practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for the patient in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status)
Assures patient and office confidentiality. Willingly accepts other duties as may be assigned and complies with the standard of excellence policy and the employment policies in the Southeast Denver Pediatrics handbook.

Aptitudes & Temperaments Required: Pleasant, professional in manner/appearance, excellent etiquette, organized, attention to detail, ability to switch tasks easily. This position involves teamwork and patience with a helpful demeanor. Helps patients feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed.
Skills & Education Required:
Graduate of an accredited school
Graduate of an accredited PA Program
Certified (Pediatrics preferred)
Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and PALS provider card Strong computer skills in electronic medical records charting Eligible for hospital privileges (not necessary as midlevel providers do not take call) Physical Characteristics Required: Clear speaking voice; able to sit and stand for long periods of time; able to bend, stoop and reach; good hearing; legible handwriting; minimal lifting.

Essential Function
Functions- to perform age-appropriate history and physical exams for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill and well patients.
Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
Assists with patients and procedures in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
Monitors the effectiveness of treatments.
Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and referring patients.
Collaborates with provider team members by making appropriate referrals and follow up care.
Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
