Full Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to patients in a substance use disorder clinic. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The candidate will enjoy early morning hours and a part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations to obtain detailed medical histories from patients with addiction history.
  • Collaborate with medical director on appropriateness of each new admission into the program.
  • Coordinate care with patients Primary Care Provider and other providers in regards to additional diagnoses and prescribed medications.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to nurses as necessary. Ability to assist lab technician with difficult venipuncture.
  • Meet with active patients, as needed, to discuss patient medical concerns and make referrals as appropriate.
  • Review patient laboratory findings and provide recommendations or referrals as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other clinic staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Perform data collection and analysis to support patient care decisions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.

Skills

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Colorado
  • Experience working in addiction medicine is an advantage.
  • Experience working in a medical office setting with an understanding of medical records management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
