Full Job Description

Job Summary:The Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner – to join our team as a clinical faculty member at the rank of Instructor. This role offers a unique blend of independent practice and collaborative clinical work, providing rich professional experience within an academic setting. This position will primarily focus on independently managing outpatient care for patients with varicose veins, spider veins and venous disease, including performing office-based treatments. The role also includes working closely with attending vascular surgeons in a collaborative clinic setting, providing care for the full spectrum of vascular diseases, including peripheral arterial disease, aneurysmal disease, and carotid artery disease. To support team coverage, occasional inpatient duties may be required during APP PTO.

Prior vascular experience is not required; we offer comprehensive training to ensure you are well-prepared and supported in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with a team of experienced physicians to provide comprehensive medical services and exceptional care to vascular surgery patients.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, develop tailored treatment plans, and perform in-office procedures such as sclerotherapy, radiofrequency ablation, Varithena® injections, VenaSeal™ vein closures, and ambulatory phlebectomy, with full training provided. All while monitoring and continuity of care for patients between physician visits.
  • Educate patients on their condition, treatment options, and preventative measures. While monitoring and documenting patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab work and maintain accurate up-to-date patient records.
  • Adhere to all medical protocols, standards, and regulations. Including, staying current with advancements in vascular treatments and techniques.
  • Participate in marketing and physician relations activities as needed for practice building and development.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues. Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation as needed.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested, including mandatory trainings.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities; assist in maintaining compliance with JCAHO accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards.
  • Support and uphold established organizational policies, procedures, and objectives related to quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a master’s degree in Advanced Practice Nursing or a graduate of an accredited program in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Current or Eligible State of Colorado License for Advanced Practice Nursing or Physician Assistance, Including Prescriptive Authority
  • Currently credentialed as an APN or PA by the appropriate national certifying body

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of experience in Vascular Surgery

Pay: $110,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
