School- Based Family Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Smoky Hill High School – 0.6 FTE, 3 days a week

General Purpose: In order to ensure efficient, quality health care services, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide medical screenings and primary care to our patients.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct health care services to patients.
  • Offers clinical consultation and arranges referrals to other providers and clinical staff.
  • Reviews lab and x-ray results of other providers patient care results.
  • Prescribes medications to patients, including counseling patients regarding the proper use and contraindications of medications as well as detect and diagnose adverse drug reactions.
  • Evaluates medical charts to determine appropriate patient care follow up and education regarding acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Accurately and completely charts information regarding patient interactions into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Participate in the STRIDE after-hours telephone call system.

Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.

Schedule:

Part-time position (0.6 FTE); 3 days per week, 8 hours per day.

Qualifications

Knowledge, skill and ability:

  • Demonstrated knowledge in primary care specialty.
  • Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.
  • Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDE’s diverse patient population.
  • Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate with other providers and clinical staff to develop continual quality improvement procedures.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.
  • Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with electronic health records (EHR) system.

Education or Formal Training:

  • Masters in nursing from an accredited nursing program/ Physician Assistant licensure and certification.
  • Board certification.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Colorado.
  • BLS Certification

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a primary care nurse practitioner/physician assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Two years post licensing experience preferred. New graduates are encouraged to apply for future roles.

Competitive Compensation:

Annual salary range: $108,000–$130,000 for 1.0 FT ($64,800-$75,000 for 0.6 FTE) based on experience.

Please note, the pay range listed for this position is a scale. Pay will be calculated based on years of experience since licensing and/or related to the specific qualifications of the role. Comprehensive Benefits:
