Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – Level III NICU | Locums | Denver, CO | Summer Coverage

Location: Denver Health – Main Campus, Denver, ColoradoSetting: Level III Inpatient NICUAssignment: June & July CoverageSchedule: 24-hour shifts | 4–5 shifts per monthCommitment: Minimum of 3–5 shifts per monthCredentialing: Approximately 90 days

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) for a high-impact locums opportunity at Denver Health – Main Campus. This Level III NICU provides a collaborative and supportive environment, ideal for confident providers who thrive in autonomous overnight coverage while working alongside pediatric residents.

This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a high-acuity setting while enjoying summer in the vibrant city of Denver.

Practice Highlights

• Level III NICU with high-risk obstetric and extreme preterm deliveries
• No ECMO or cardiac cases
• Care for 28–30 week preemies and other NICU patients
• 16–18 patient encounters per day
• NICU team attends 10–12 deliveries daily
• EPIC EMR system

Support Structure

• Neonatologist on call from home (5:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
• Pediatric resident in-house overnight
• Collaborative, team-based care model

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a Level III NICU
• Attend high-risk deliveries and manage preterm infants
• Deliver autonomous overnight coverage
• Collaborate effectively with neonatologists and pediatric residents
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR

Candidate Requirements

• Board-Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
• Active Colorado license (required; no IMLC or pending licenses)
• Experience in Level III or higher NICU settings
• Comfortable working solo overnight shifts
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required

• Coverage Type: Locums (with potential for permanent placement)
• Start: June–July (Summer Coverage)
• Shifts: 24-hour shifts
• Monthly Need: 4–5 shifts
• Minimum Commitment: 3–5 shifts per month
