Donor Transport & Autotransfusion Support Clinician
Location: Denver, CO

POSITION OVERVIEW
Keystone Perfusion Services, LLC is seeking a dependable and motivated clinician to provide hands-on donor support during organ donor ground transport in the Denver, Colorado area, with the opportunity to also support surgical cases through autotransfusion (cell saver) coverage.
This role is ideal for individuals with a clinical background who want variety across two areas of critical care support: the field and the operating room.
On-call participation is required. Donor transport call-outs require response within 2 to 3 hours of notice.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Transport
This individual will provide hands-on donor support during ground transport of organ donors from referring hospitals to the donor care suite, working alongside an OPO clinical coordinator throughout the trip.
Scope of duties includes:
- Providing hands-on donor support during transport, working under the direction of the accompanying OPO coordinator
- Traveling throughout the greater Denver region, including outlying areas, as assignments require
- Responding to donor transport requests within 2 to 3 hours of notice
Autotransfusion (Cell Saver)
As availability allows, this individual will support intraoperative blood recovery through autotransfusion techniques, allowing for the safe collection, processing, and reinfusion of a patient’s own blood.
Scope of duties includes:
- Autologous Blood Processing using the Haemonetics Cell Saver Elite device
- Blood conservation techniques in coordination with the surgical team
- Documentation in the patient’s medical record
- Cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of equipment
- Compliance with hospital protocols for waste disposal and infection control
- Active participation in surgical “Timeout” protocols and adherence to sterile techniques
Across both areas, this role requires demonstration of clinical and service excellence per Keystone Perfusion Services’ Code of Conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree or higher, or equivalent clinical experience
- At least three (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Preferred backgrounds:
- EMT or Paramedic
- Phlebotomy
- Surgical Tech
- Laboratory Technician
- Operating Room or Anesthesia Technician
- Current CPR certification required
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to be trained on the Haemonetics Cell Saver Elite system
- Must maintain scheduled on-call availability, including nights and weekends as assigned
- Must meet on-call response requirements for donor transport assignments
