Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant -Outpatient & Inpatient | The Springs at St. Andrews Village – Aurora, CO

About the Role

This PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) role is ideal for clinicians seeking flexible scheduling while remaining an integrated, respected member of a collaborative outpatient therapy team. Our PRN COTAs are valued contributors—not just coverage—and are supported by engaged on‑site Occupational Therapists and facility leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled, medically necessary occupational therapy interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist
  • Utilize evidence‑based practice to support clinical treatment interventions
  • ADL retraining
  • Therapeutic activities and exercises
  • Modalities
  • Use of adaptive, assistive, and supportive devices
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress, barriers, and outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Document treatment sessions, progress, and required clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Accurately record treatment minutes in compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements
  • Provide patient and caregiver education consistent with the plan of care
  • Contribute input to discharge planning and summaries as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Participate in interdisciplinary communication to support continuity of care
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and in‑services relevant to scheduled PRN hours, with flexibility whenever possible
  • Collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain necessary DME or supplies
  • Support OTA students as assigned, under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist
  • Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, state practice acts, and company policies, including ethics and compliance standards

Qualifications

  • Active Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of Colorado
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
