Full Job Description
Southern California Medical Center is currently looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team of healthcare professionals in our busy clinic. The Nurse Practitioner will provide primary care, providing complete patient history, physical examinations, diagnosis, and plans for treatment of primary, secondary, and tertiary care services as outlined in, and in compliance with the standardized protocols for Nurse Practitioners.
Job Requirements
- Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures;
- Performs physical examinations.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, blood work, and interprets test results;
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, and managing infection;
- Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with medical director concerning appropriate treatment;
- Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients and records progress;
- Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations;
- Provides health education regarding health maintenance especially in the realm of STD prevention;
- Prescreens cases requiring review by the Chief Medical Officer;
- Participates in staff meetings, planning meetings and other meetings as needed;
- Participates in the program’s ongoing quality assurance monitoring

Southern California Medical Center is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC). Nurse practitioners may be eligible for school loan repayment under the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) loan repayment programs in conjunction with the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA).
Applicant Qualifications
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program
- Nurse Practitioner: 1 year (Required)
- Nurse Practitioner license, current within the state of CA
- Nurse practitioner board certification
- Bi-lingual Spanish/Farsi (plus)
