Job Title: Physician Assistant

Location : Oakland, CA, Vallejo, CA

Duration : Full time

Key Responsibilities:

• Take medical histories and perform physical examinations on patients to assess their health status.
• Diagnose illnesses and conditions, develop treatment plans, and provide medical care under the supervision of a physician.
• Prescribe medications, administer injections, and order laboratory tests as needed.
• Perform routine medical procedures, such as suturing, wound care, and minor surgical interventions.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical histories.
• Respond to medical emergencies, providing immediate care and stabilizing patients until a physician is available.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Must be licensed to practice as a PA in the state of employment. Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required, with ongoing continuing education to maintain certification.
• Strong clinical skills, including the ability to assess and diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, and perform medical procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to think critically and make sound decisions regarding patient care.
• Empathy and a patient-centered approach to care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a specific medical specialty (e.g., surgery, emergency medicine, pediatrics) is often preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135,000.00 – $153,000.00 per year
