Summary:
The Physician Assistant works in collaboration with the medical director to oversee all matters related to addiction medicine and Medicated Assisted Treatment. Reports to the CEO.
Qualifications:
Current Physician Assistant License issued by the Medical Board of California. Knowledge of medication assisted treatments and various aspects of addiction and co-occurring disorders. Proficient charting; valid California Driver’s License and evidence of automobile insurance coverage. Professional appearance and pleasant mannerism. Must pass background check.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for providing addiction medical services in collaboration with the Medical Director
· Implement treatment plans
· Provide consultations to clients regarding Medication Assisted Treatment (i.e.: vivitrol, Sublicade, suboxone)
· Collaborate with the Medical Director on providing incidental medical services (IMS)
· Increase the utilization of MAT Services in the residential programs
· Collect and complete required data and paperwork as applicable to contractual obligations
- Review client assessments and reports from all nurses to ensure adequate documentation and collaboration with clinical staff, physician, pharmacy, and other agencies involved.
- Medical oversight of withdrawal management and residential program in collaboration with the medical director and program coordinator.
- Participate and comply with all trainings as required by federal, state, local, and accrediting agencies.
- Develop and present educational trainings on various medical topics related to SUD, MAT education and general health practices.
- Perform medical services within the scope of education, training, expertise.
- Provide medical input on an ongoing basis.
- Communicate any significant findings with medical director/program coordinator.
- Inform clients of anticipated symptoms of withdrawal, when applicable.
- All other duties deemed necessary and appropriate by the CEO and Medical Director
- Ensure the highest level of service is provided to the people we serve.
- Ensure client anonymity and confidentiality in compliance with federal guidelines, including HIPAA regulations.
- Adhere to staff Codes of Ethics and Conduct.
- Adhere to policies and procedures set forth for agency.
- Adhere to safety and housekeeping standards established by IVRS.
- Stay apprised of current treatment trends and updated federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and standards governing all services provided by IVRS.
Essential Job Functions:
· Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, calculators and fax machines.
· Must be able to prepare correspondence.
· Must be able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
· Must be able to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.
· Must be able to communicate effectively.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $80.00 per hour
