Full Job Description

New per diem position open at Urgent Care/Primary Care Clinic. We are seeking an experienced (ER or Urgent Care or Family Practice) Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to become a part of our team. You will focus on providing high-quality patient care as part of a healthcare team.

We are looking for someone to work per diem coverage for weekdays and weekends as needed. Likely 1-2 shifts per week or more if available/needed. Weekends (9a-6p) and weekdays 9a-8p).

Pay is $72 to 80+/hr depending upon experience. Pay depends upon prior urgent care/ER provider-level experience, and references.

Benefit: Free in-house basic medical care provided for staff. Malpractice insurance.

***At least 2+ years of urgent care/ emergency department or primary care provider-level experience required.***

(This position is not being offered to new or recent graduates).

Some knowledge of primary care is a bonus.

Must be very independent and capable of doing procedures, including abscess drainage, laceration repair, digital blocks, ingrown toenail removal, splinting etc. and also basic X-Ray and EKG interpretation with support. Medical Director is a board certified emergency medicine physician and always available for questions, consultation and mentoring, including reviewing all EKGs/XRays.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
  • Feel comfortable with procedures, including laceration repair and abscess incision and drainage
  • Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
  • Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
  • Treat all age groups

Qualifications:

  • Ability to build rapport with patients, friendly with great bedside manner
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment often seeing at least 3 patients per hour.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Punctual, reliable and a team player
  • Perform patient call backs daily for results
