Full Job Description

Great opportunity for a full-time Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Orthopedic, Spine & Pain Management team. With the supervision of an orthopedic surgeon, the PA performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing. In addition to being a surgical assist, the PA provides post-operative management, patient/family education and discharge planning. In the out-patient clinic setting, the PA will have independent clinic time; perform histories and exams, evaluate new and established patients, orders, and interpret diagnostic studies and initiates therapeutic treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • In the office clinic setting, the Physician Assistant (PA-C) will have independent clinics, seeing about 20 patients per day.
  • Responsible for performing histories and physical exams, evaluates, new, established and post-procedure and post-op patients
  • Orders, and interprets diagnostic studies and initiate therapeutic treatment plans.
  • Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with physicians regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status
  • Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the care team through written documentation, telephone or in-person conversation
  • Ensure timely access to patient appointments

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant Training Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), or its predecessors.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
  • Current California State Licensed Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • DEA license required.
  • 2 Years’ experience as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • Spine experience preferred
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS certification required
  • Experience and proficiency in electronic medical records, Cerner experience a plus.

EXEMPT Position – Salary range: $112,112.00 – $188,323.00

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $112,112.00 – $188,323.00 per year
