Full Job Description

Great opportunity for a full-time Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Neurosurgery Team. This Physician Assistant will work in multiple settings including in-patient, outpatient, operating room and clinic.

We are looking for a motivated, self-directed team player to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills. Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physicians by performing the following duties:

  • Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and post-operative care
  • Provide support to the supervising physician in the operating room as a surgical assistant
  • Demonstrate leadership as a clinical resource
  • Participate in rounding independently or with a surgeon
  • Coordinate and manage patient care as assigned by supervising physician
  • Respond timely to patient questions/issues that arise as triaged by clinical staff
  • Perform delegated tasks as assigned by the supervising physician
  • Accurately document all patient encounters and communication in the electronic health record

Education/Licensing/Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant Training Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), or its predecessors.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
  • Current California State Licensed Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • DEA license required.
  • 2 years of experience working as a PA.
  • Experience in a surgical specialty, i.e. Neurosurgery, Spine, Orthopedics.
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS certification required
  • Experience and proficiency in electronic medical records, Cerner experience a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $118,893.00 – $197,767.00 per year
