Full Job Description
We are looking for a responsible Physician Assistant who has an interest in Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics, and Musculoskeletal Injuries. The PA will support and work closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons in a busy practice. We evaluate and treat ligament injuries, fractures, and joint injuries. We perform arthroscopic surgery, open surgery, and joint replacements. In clinic, we perform closed reductions, cast application, and administer injections. You will apply medical techniques and principles under the direction of a physician and you will deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement.
Responsibilities
- Assist supervising Orthopaedic Surgeon in surgery 2 to 3 times per week.
- Assist and/or conduct Orthopaedic clinic to evaluate acute and chronic injuries 2 to 3 times per week.
- Perform Virtual Consultations remotely for new and established patients.
- Assist in patient care for post-surgical patients who are hospitalized.
- Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine
- Assist in the reduction of fractures, cast application and removal
Skills
- No prior experience is required but a willingness to learn and make a long term commitment to our practice is required
- Interest and/or familiarity with Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic injuries
- Knowledge of bony and soft-tissue anatomy
- Familiarity with common EMR programs
- Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Caring and compassionate
- Team player with good communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
